PPC Marketing Tips for Healthcare and Medical Professionals

PPC Marketing Tips for Healthcare and Medical Professionals

Are you planning to launch a unique pay-per-click advertising campaign for your medical practice and not sure where to start?

Companies in every industry can benefit from pay-per-click (PPC) advertising and this is particularly true for hospitals. As healthcare businesses need to target potential customers at every stage to survive within the industry, PPC advertising for healthcare is one of the quickest and easiest ways to attract and connect with new patients when they’re actively searching for a healthcare provider. PPC or pay-per-click is a unique internet advertising tool to direct traffic to websites in which an advertiser pays a publisher when the ad is clicked. With constant focus, monitoring and optimization, PPC campaigns ensure that a website is on top of the search results page instead of getting lost among millions of results. When it comes to healthcare (perhaps more than any other industry), people search online to find answers for their health concerns. Relying on medical SEO services from a professional company can help implement an effective strategy to target and attract new clients.

Why Is PPC Advertising Important?

In simple terms, Pay-per-click (PPC) advertising is a marketing tactic where a brand places an online ad for free and pays each time a prospect clicks on it. It can be split into two categories – search advertising and display advertising. In fact, this is a perfect solution for a healthcare marketer planning to strengthen online visibility, drive more traffic to their website, generate quality leads, and increase revenue. Other benefits that PPC offers to healthcare practices include –

  • Makes the practice’s website more visible to potential patients
  • Helps target very specific group of audiences
  • Helps identify topics for content marketing
  • Helps show ads to people who have visited particular pages on a website

As per a recent data compilation by Wordstream, click-through rates in the healthcare industry are 6.7 percent lower than average PPC search campaigns. On the other hand, the cost-per-click on these campaigns is 36 percent higher than the industry average. Overall, this means the medical industry has a cost-per-action that is $126.29, which is 134 percent more than the industry average. Here discussed are some important tips or strategies for healthcare PPC campaigns that help increase the return on investment (ROI) on these campaigns –

  • Set Advertising Goals – Compared to SEO statistics, PPC statistics are easy to measure, making it easier for healthcare marketers to track return on investment and manage budget. PPC marketing can be used to increase website traffic, patient volume and brand awareness, and generate leads. When planning a PPC campaign, it is important to define the goals that the healthcare provider would like to accomplish as it will help assess the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Know the Type of Audience – One of the important aspects of healthcare PPC marketing is that the ads must be tailored or targeted to specific groups and subgroups for maximum ROI. Make sure to use Google Analytics (GA) to understand what kind of users (whether local/global, younger/older, male /female) get attracted to a specific website. For instance, if you have multiple audience groups, consider launching different PPC ad campaigns for each. Before placing a PPC ad, ask yourself these questions –
    • Who is your target audience?
    • What type of services are they looking for?
    • How do they search for healthcare practices or providers?

Finding definite answers to these questions will help analyze the target audience’s traits and characteristics, complete with basic demographic information, as well as their considerations, top priorities, and any obstacles that prevent them from choosing a particular healthcare practice or services.

  • Revisit Ad Content – Try to make sure that the ads are relevant to the people searching. Even though this may sound a little intuitive, the biggest killer of CTR is serving an ad that a target audience is not looking for in their search results. For instance, if the target audience groups are searching for physicians and the search content is showing a copy for digital imaging, the majority of people won’t click the ad. Having keyword-loaded copy is important. Just be aware about what kinds of ads are showing for a keyword. Make sure they offer something valuable to the people searching.
  • Pick the Right Keywords –The basic goal of PPC should be to get fresh prospects to discover a healthcare practice online. Identifying the right keywords that are most likely to result in clicks and conversions is an important aspect in this regard. Typically, a well-organized PPC campaign will include a number of different types of keywords with different levels of intent, such as – brand, low-intent, long-tail and competitive keywords. The smart way to find relevant keywords is to use an online tool like Google Keyword Planner. It helps find keywords that have high search volume, relevant to the service that a healthcare practice is trying to promote and that best fits into their budget.
  • Create a Compelling/Responsive Ad Copy – Search engines always tend to show high-quality ads, whose copy is closely related to the search keyword. Creating a compelling and impactful ad copy will increase CTR, which will in turn increase quality score. Quality score is one of the essential metrics a healthcare practice should be focusing on to run more successful campaigns. Responsive display ads (RDAs) – automatically adjust their size and format to fit whatever ad space is available on a page. These can be used through Google Ads, and helps the healthcare center discover the best headline, description, and even image combination. Most importantly, RDAs are instantly suitable for all types of devices – mobiles, tablets, PCs, etc. No matter how the ads are viewed, they will appear in a presentable and visually pleasing form.
  • Enable Ad Extensions – Maximize the amount of additional information being shared with audiences by adding extensions. It increases an ad’s click-through-rate by several percentage points, increases visibility, CTR and ROI. Some common ad extensions include –
    • Callouts – short 25 character descriptions to highlight what is being offered.
    • Sitelinks – include links that populate under your ad to help direct people to the landing pages you select.
    • Structured snippets – this extension highlights the services or the type of products offered.
    • Location – displays your medical business address, contact number and directions to reach you.
    • App – links that direct users to the app store or provide a link to download link of the app.
    • Review – includes online reviews which customers tend to trust

It is important to test various extensions and analyze which one works best for your healthcare practice. Keep an eye on the users to know what terms they use for several possible results.

  • Focus on Geo-targeting – Also known as location-targeting, this is a paid advertising strategy that is designed to target an audience within a specific geographical area. These strategies can help deliver specific healthcare services to prospective customers based on their geographical location. For instance, if the majority of audiences or customers reside in a specific geographical area, it is important to focus the campaign solely on that specific area rather than wasting the ad budget targeting the entire city. With the right geo targeting strategy in place, healthcare practices can reach the right group of people searching for a service which can improve PPC performance and return on investment.
  • Optimize Landing Pages – Landing pages play a critical role in healthcare digital advertising. For instance, when someone clicks on your ad, they arrive on a landing page and this page must deliver on your ad. If it doesn’t, people will return to the search results, which doesn’t help your healthcare advertising initiative. Analyze your landing pages for different ad campaigns. For instance, if your healthcare practice designs an ad promoting emergency medical care – the landing page need to offer additional information about emergency care, like parking, capabilities, and more.
  • Optimize Ads for Mobile – As per Statista.com, there are more than 3 billion Smartphone users worldwide. It is estimated that people spent 23 additional minutes per day on their smartphones in 2020 to conduct searches. Setting up PPC Ads for mobile is easier because of the level of intimacy that a Smartphone offers. Optimizing these ads would persuade users to click on the ads – whether on the search networks or display networks.

  • Take Advantage of Conversion Tracking – Conversion tracking offers a unique platform to gain insight into the type of keywords that drive traffic to the paid ad campaign and prompt people to convert. This report will also provide insight about the negative keywords and help to narrow down the target audience group. Using this feature allows Google to optimize the account with the setting “maximize for conversions,” which will show ads to users who are more likely to convert based on those who have previously done so.
  • Conduct PPC Audits – Getting the most value out of healthcare PPC requires regular PPC audits. A PPC audit involves a complete analysis of the advertising strategy, ad campaigns, and ads. These audits help to evaluate where the PPC ads are succeeding and where they aren’t, how long these ads stay relevant, and whether users are finding the solutions they need on the site via these ads. This analysis can provide information regarding what is engaging and what changes need to be incorporated to better target the ads.
  • Research Competitor Campaigns – Competing health centers can also provide insight into the healthcare advertising strategy. For instance, using tools like SEMrush would enable you to see competitor ads. Checking Facebook’s ad library can help view an organization’s Facebook and Instagram ads.
  • A/B Testing – It is not possible to know and analyze what works best for a healthcare practice without testing. A/B testing for PPC campaigns makes ads more relevant. To test PPC campaign, test the headlines, description, link, keywords, and ad extensions. In addition, testing landing page elements like design, images, CTA, benefits and features is also crucial. Regular A/B testing keeps an eye on CTRs and overall volume but, most importantly focuses on conversions and cost per conversion. However, make sure to test only one element at a time to get proper results as multi elements testing can be convoluted and indeterminate.

Launching and maintaining a healthy PPC campaign for your healthcare practice requires more than a one-time setup. PPC is an on-demand way to strengthen online visibility, increase traffic, and drive profitability. It is also one of the great lead generation strategies for healthcare marketers. However, to get the best results, it is important to follow a strategic approach to set up your health advertising campaigns. An organic SEO company can design the right PPC campaign for healthcare practices to increase website visibility, traffic, and conversions.

Creating Relevant Content for a Law Firm Website – Useful Tips

Creating Relevant Content for a Law Firm Website – Useful Tips

The search engine optimization (SEO) landscape for legal films is fiercely competitive. With such fierce competition, building a strong online presence or effectively marketing law firms has become quite challenging for attorneys. Incorporating strong digital marketing tactics can help potential clients locate a law firm more easily online. Even though there are multiple digital marketing strategies that law firms can leverage, SEO content writing is a particularly effective strategy. This is because law is primarily knowledge-based and unique content is highly beneficial to spreading that knowledge to a sizeable audience group. An important element of any digital marketing campaign, content marketing helps build trust and engagement with the law firms’ target audience and establish brand profile. Law firm marketing services can provide unique search engine marketing solutions to increase online engagement and optimize brand presence.

Developing Content for a Law Firm Website

Writing effective content is an important aspect for any business, particularly for those in the legal field. Typically, people will not choose the first lawyer they see or visit, rather they would put in a good amount of research to find the right lawyer. Building trust and authority is the most important purpose of content marketing for law firms. By posting valuable and effective content on the website, law firms can show their knowledge and experience, and encourage potential clients to utilize their services. When writing content for a law firm website, it is important to focus on some important points like –

  • Know the Target Audience – Knowing the target audience group involves fulfilling 80 percent of the task. Building strong legal content starts with understanding the right group of customers and giving them exactly what they want. Consider the following aspects when developing the content –
    • Make potential clients understand the whole aspects of a legal issue, for instance – right from the charge through to bail, sentencing, and other additional steps.
    • Make a potential client understand the full consequences of the legal issue they face
    • Provide answers to the most frequently asked questions with specific legal cases
  • Think Beyond Static Articles – Have a clear idea about what type of format will best suit the content. Content can be created in the form of a video, infographic, podcast, article, blog or case summary. Try to combine several formats together to produce a piece of content that’s truly outstanding.
  • Engagement Metrics – There is no such thing as content that is great for SEO but poorly written. Search engines reward well-written, relevant and original content that attracts users and keeps them on the website pages for as long as possible.

Law Firm Content Marketing – Key Tips to Boost Website Rankings

Although most aspects of search engine optimization (SEO) and digital marketing can be pretty technical, content is one of the areas where creativity is rewarded. Incorporating a solid content marketing strategy can make a law firm website stand out from the rest. Developing or publishing fresh, authoritative, and relevant content can help strengthen search engine optimization, link building and social media strategies at the same time. Here discussed are some key points to be considered when developing law firm content–

  • Write for Topics over Keywords – Keywords are a key component that SEO content needs to have as these help clients locate content organically when they search online. However, gone are the days when keywords were used to make a piece of content rank on Google. Nowadays, keywords are used to tell Google what some of the ideas in the content are. As Google has become smarter with how it interprets queries, people also have become smarter about evaluating the quality of the results they obtain. Law firm content should be based on actual topics that relate to the legal industry. Writing for such related legal topics helps to match content to what potential clients are actually searching for more than keywords alone ever could. Utilizing tools like Answer the Public and SEMrush’s topic research feature can help generate content ideas based on key phrases. In addition, conduct a search on the topic chosen and search on Google’s SERPs to see what is already ranking, and how the content is presented.
  • Create a Unique Page for Each Service – When it comes to a law firm website, never be tempted to combine all of your services together on a single page. Create a unique and separate page for each specific service. It makes it easier for visitors to navigate to the right information.unique page

  • Optimize Each Web Page – Optimize each page of a website for a maximum of one or two search terms – that need to be very specific and targeted. This will tell the search engines exactly what that specific page is all about. For instance, when we take the “Social Security Disability” page of “The Sawaya Law firm” based in Denver, United States – they are not trying to target personal injury lawyer or a multitude of other phrases on the page. Instead, they are mainly targeting one primary keyword phrase – Social Security Disability Lawyer.optimize webpage

  • Include Legal Specific Statistics – Supporting a specific case with clear evidence is an important aspect in the legal profession. For instance, if a legal firm is trying to support or handle a case via their website content, it is important to provide statistics related to their involvement in such cases. These statistics will convince a potential client to hire the services of the legal firm over their competitors. Credibility is a prominent factor that helps in convincing potential clients who visit a legal website to remain there and go deeper into the information. In fact, lack of credibility is one solid reason for them to ‘bounce’. Providing useful and valuable content keeps visitors on a site and encourages them to go deeper into what a legal firm is really into and what specific services they offer.
  • Include Successful Case Results – A law firm must provide statistical evidence about their practice areas and back up their own success with hardcore evidence. Successful case studies with testimonials can be included as part of evidence. By providing real-world evidence about the number of successful cases, a law firm can raise their credibility and encourage the visitor to read up, go deeper, and remain on the website.case results

  • Include Multimedia Options – Generally, law firm website content should go well beyond text alone. Incorporate multimedia options like – videos, images and infographics – that help differentiate your website from others and increase the dwell time for visitors. Dwell time is the time spent in one position on a website. Videos and infographics are great ways to increase dwell time, while keeping visitors on your website for longer, thereby boosting rankings.
  • Include FAQs in the Website – Regarded as an important element in a law firm website, FAQs provide answers to common queries of the target audience group. FAQs provide a chance of using the main keyword phrases and easily insert the semantic SEO terms. In addition, it opens the gateway for a huge amount of traffic because of its prominence on the page.faq

  • Include Testimonials and Reviews – Testimonials and reviews from past clients serve several important purposes. Firstly, testimonials provide the all-important credibility. It allows a website to rank for highly competitive, top-tier keywords if used in a smart way. In addition, reviews and case studies help readers relate their issue to real-world results – and this keeps them on the website for a longer time.testimonials review

  • Describe the Legal Process – Explaining the whole process pertaining to a specific legal issue is an important aspect in building relevant content for a law firm website. Often, people visiting a law firm website may not be well-versed in the legal process and in most cases will be in the information-gathering stage. In that stage, visitors will try to know about the specific legal processes that will occur when getting involved in a legal issue. Describing legal processes in detail may help keep visitors on the web page and provide answers to their valuable queries.
  • Focus on the Structure of the Content – In most cases, people who visit a law firm website may be looking for quick guidance. People usually search for specific, easy-to-understand legal information. Formatting content as long, technical paragraphs may definitely increase the “bounce rate” from a website, but it may not be good from an SEO point of view. Therefore, it is important to develop legal content in well-structured, easy-to-digest paragraphs. In fact, large, black readable text on a light background usually performs the best. Make sure to use short sentences, paragraphs, and clear headers. In addition, using graphics, videos and images can help to break up the text and explain complex points in a more detailed format.

Incorporating a strong content marketing strategy can help a law firm achieve their business goals. An effective content marketing strategy improves online visibility, adds value to the law firm, and thereby improves conversions and revenue. In fact, highly optimized content is an effective way for law firm websites to ascend Google’s SERPs and get noticed by high-quality potential clients who are in need of legal services. Using the above-mentioned tips for building valuable and relevant content would not only help a law firm to attract more amount of traffic to their website, but also build a strong online presence. Content writing services provided by reputable providers can help implement these strategies effectively and make sure that a law firm stays ahead of the competition.

From the YouTube Studio dashboard, it helps creators to identify what works and what flops. Very recently, the platform rolled out five new updates to creators’ analytics data, which provide more insights into how users engage with their content globally.

The latest YouTube analytics updates include:

  • Memberships Metrics
  • “Other Channels or Videos Your Audience Watched” Card on Mobile
  • More Visible Video Performance Explanations
  • Revenue Insights Based on Geographic Shift
  • Post Engagement Metrics are Now Available for YouTube posts

Let’s now dig deep into each of these updates – that is available now in YouTube Studio.

Memberships Metrics

Creators always had doubts regarding the memberships and they ask many questions regarding it like:

  • How do my memberships evolve overtime?
  • Which of my videos helped me win or lose more members than usual?
  • Does it help if I remind my audience to become paying members?

In order to facilitate answers to these questions, the company created a members tab within the audience page in YouTube analytics.

This update, membership metrics in YouTube Analytics, gives creators the data they’ve been asking for – for instance, it shows creators the total number of active members, and the total number of members a channel has had throughout its life span. It will also show totals as a cumulative number or as daily changes.

However, to help creators track daily changes to total, active, gained, lost, and canceling members, this update also comes with additional deep dive metrics.

“Other Channels or Videos Your Audience Watched” Card on Mobile

This update launches two cards – that were previously only available on desktop – to mobile:

  • Other channels your audience watches
  • Other videos your audience watches

These two cards have been added to the bottom of the Audience tab in the YouTube Studio mobile app. Tapping on one of these cards will bring up a detailed view of 15 videos or channels and tapping on any one of the 15 videos or channels, will bring the creators to that video on the main YouTube app, which is a convenient way to conduct audience analysis on the go.

More Visible Video Performance Explanations

YouTube launched an update on the video overview in the analytics on desktop – which is a direct and to-the-point update – to provide a clearer, more visible explanation of video performance.

Revenue Insights Based on Geographic Shift

The company is adding another insight relative to revenue changes. That is, if revenue is going up or down due to a channel’s audience shifting to a higher or lower CPM country, YouTube now has the power to call that out. This insight will be available on mobile and desktop.

Post-engagement Metrics

Post-engagement metrics for YouTube posts – which were announced and previewed back in May – are now live. A card on the channel’s engagement tab shows the creators’ votes and likes on their top posts over the last 28 days – which can be filtered by post type.

  • Reach out to Potential Buyers with Google Shopping ads: Google shopping campaign is not a new thing for ecommerce businesses. It helps to advertise your products at the top of the Google search results at the right moment when people are looking to purchase the products or services that you are trying to sell.
