Social Media for your Business: How to increase Followers and Visitor Engagement.

Hello This is Monica Barber the Search Marketing/SEO manager for medresponsive.com

This week’s podcast is about Social Media for your business and how to increase followers and visitor engagement. What is social media engagement? Social media engagement measures the amount of public shares, likes, clicks on links and comments on all of your social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Pinterest etc. However, before you can have engagement, first you need to have an audience sometimes known as followers. Followers can be considered a type of conversion as gaining followers indicates that there is a level of interest in your company, website, vision, products, services and more.

With Social Media there are a set of best practices. In general it is advised to try post at least one to three times a day to keep your brand in front of your audience. However, don’t go overboard because it could have a negative impact on your brand. Your posts should be entertaining, engaging, intelligent, informative and witty. Posting with images, videos, infographics, podcasts, slideshows, presentations, animations will increase engagement dramatically. When posting, speak to your audience on a personal level without sounding like a press release. Your posts should not be all about you. Your posts should provide your audience with valuable, relevant information that may help them. Listen to your audience. Read their comments. Answer in a timely manner. Be courteous, informative and responsive to their needs. If possible, on platforms such as Twitter, Instagram etc. follow your audience and like or share their posts if applicable.

Mix up your content with contests, questions, congratulations etc. Your company image will be enhanced by reaching out to your audience and making them feel important. Monitor and track your shares, re-tweets, likes and keywords on social media marketing apps such as HootSuite, Sprout Social, Conversocial and more.

While the measurement of engagement is a metric that evaluates how well your social media potential clients are interacting with your brand, it doesn’t always translate into sales. Sometimes using Facebook’s local ad targeting and sponsored ads on Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn can help boost your brand’s presence and increase conversions. However, be careful not to overdo it as it could cause negative branding and you could lose some of your audience.

Implementing the right Social Media strategy for your business often can be tricky and time-consuming. The Social Media team here at Med Responsive can help you with any of your Social Media needs.
